shameless plug! (and other things)

The Mind of Rick is the blog of one of my close friends. I think of him as a big brother to me. His name is Rick Smith, and he’s a member of the New Democrat Party here in Canada. Check out his blog, he’s got awesome opinions and is a good writer. I deeply, deeply love him and have promised to advertise. <33

In other news, um… I went to see The Last Mimzy today. It was incredible. There was this one amazing climactic moment, and I swear to god I did not breathe. I was just sitting on the edge of my seat, gaping. Totally amazing. But, I shall give no spoilers, for I am not that bad. Rainn Wilson (from the American version of The Office) was in it, and he was SO good. Very, very funny guy. I am going to see it again I believe next weekend or thereabouts.

 Also, today I went to McDonalds for the first time in about two years. Only because the toys in the Happy Meals are Wizard of Oz figurines, and if you know me at all you know that my favourite musical is Wicked, based on the Wizard of Oz. I got an Elphaba (Wicked Witch of the West) figurine, and a Cowardly Lion as well. I’m so pleased that they made Elphaba pretty; you know, not with a hook nose and a pointed chin… she’s actually really beautiful. Which is good. Elphaba is supposed to be a smouldering beauty, and that is how they portrayed her. Downside to McDonalds food: right after I ate it, I got the biggest stomachache I’ve had in ages. Seriously, I was doubled over, moaning in agony. I got over it, of course, but still. Pain.
