The Emerald City

thoughts on sex.

Posted in love, religion, sex by Scaramouche on 12 August, 2007

I’m going to say something right now, and I ask that you listen to me.

I do not believe in the Christian god. I am not Christian in any sense of the word. I am a proud pagan. In fact, I believe in sex rituals. Yes, that’s right. I believe that sex is a form of worship to the gods.

I have decided to remain abstinent.

Am I a walking contradiction? No. Because sex, to me, is holy. Why would I share that holy ritual, that pleasure that glorifies the gods I believe in, with someone I won’t love forever? I am not abstinent to remain pure. I know I’m not pure. I don’t particularly want to be. But, I also don’t want to share the most intimate and intense religious experience of my life with someone and then just leave him/her. (Yes, that’s right. I’m also bisexual.)

Sex is a holy, religious ritual for me. I’m not going to share it with just anyone. Is that acceptable to you? Am I allowed to be abstinent and believe that sex is a religious ritual as well? Or must I be one or the other? Do I have to choose between my two beliefs?

You kept on saying your basis is formed from your own opinion and definition. I think you need to have a basis, something that is written. Something where all your definitions should be based.

How can you be proud of your belief when your belief has no basis at all? How can you survive on a world when almost everyone has no foundation to stand to, a firm ground that no one can shake.

Contradiction is a word where almost everyone dwells because that is their heart’s desire. And they fall never to stand again.

Can you please visit this and you may see the difference and what you are missing:

    In response to elmantheman:

Haha, oh you Christians think your Bible is the basis for everything, and that all other beliefs are just arbitrary and made up. Well let me ask you this; you do you know the Bible has any basis? How does it have any more basis than someone personal beliefs that they formed by looking deep inside themselves? I know you most likely believe the Bible was written, or at least dictated by God. But know do you know that the books the Bible weren’t penned by rendom people who liked to write stories, and just made them up to try to explain a world they couldn’t explain?

You asked how someone could have a belief wih no basis at all. How does Christianity have any more of a basis than what Scaramouche believes? It has no foundation either. I could shake the foundations of all of Christianity in about five minutes of talking. But it is not my job to do. Philosophers have already done a pretty good job of shaking up the foundations of Christianity over the centuries. Contradiction is a word that is often applied to Christianity and the Bible. I guess what I’m saying is, I don’t care what you believe, but please don’t ridicule what others believe. Your belief system is no better than anyone else’s.

Ephesians 4:17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.

18They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. 19Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.

    20You, however, did not come to know Christ that way. 21Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23to be made new in the attitude of your minds;

24and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

25Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body.

I believe I speak for everyone, elmantheman, when I say: stfu, n00b. Take your preaching elsewhere, I will not abide it here.

  5. elmantheman said,

I have no preaching to make, all I pasted here are from the Holy Bible. If you can’t take it, it’s not me who you rejected.

Just remember, God gave His all possession to his son. But God gave his son to the world and was beaten, spitted, bruised, humiliated. That is how precious people to God. I hope you become part of this people.

I have visited that site. I saw the same propaganda and hate that others have told me. I thought Christianity was about loving your neighbour like yourself, treating people the way you’d like to be treated. Instead, I see people saying that other humans, their “brothers”, are wrong for believing something else. You say I’m wrong for believing what I do. Is that “Christian” of you? Is that what Jesus would have done? Jesus had excellent ideas – “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone”, “Do unto others as you’d have them do unto you”, “This is my commandment, that ye love one another as I have loved you” – but the government decided that it was too radical, and punished him according to the laws of their times. He was a good man.

So why do you insist upon taking these ideas, these simple rules to make our world a better place, and warp them to try and make people believe you’re better than them?

We are all equal. Peace and love, man.

  7. elmantheman said,

You are misled on how Christians work. We give bread, that one that never spoils. IF you think it is a stone, (the conversation being thrown by us) then you are wrong. If it hurts you, or those who really do not understand the bible, then it is high time for you to realize that the Holy Bible contains the divine explanation why you feel that way!

If you cast a stone to a sinner, that is totally un-Christian. But if you give them bread coming from heaven, then your charity is credited in heaven. Maybe, mine shall not be credited since I broadcasted it here. But for the sake of those who do not realize the plan and love of God for mankind, I will choose that my holiness being earned be sacrificed.

But what can you say about the things Bro Eli’s imparted from his blog?

Sex is basic element of a Big Bang of life.

If you still at the “Animal State” then do sex in Animal way like the dogs in the street.

If you are in “Civilized State” then do sex in a civilized way.

Do you want to be a civilized?

  10. Scaramouche said,

No. I don’t particularly like civilization. Civilization ruined things for everyone. If no one was civilized, then war wouldn’t happen, hate wouldn’t happen. I’m perfectly happy to screw like a dog in the street.

    But thanks for asking!

  11. Justin said,

Wow… just wow. It amazes me how you ignorant fools can use your book to justify *anything*. You know, I want to write my own book which I’ll use to justify myself in everything I do. And don’t you dare tell me it has no basis or foundation. For my book will have just as much foundation as your own. Fucking godfags. Go leave us alone, stop forcing your beliefs on us. I have no problem with freedom of religion as long as I’m free to choose my own and not be bothered by others who want me to think differently.

  12. member of MCGI Cebu Chapter said,

    Thanks for the acceptance.

    I think Bro. elman should think twice on this scenario because his feference book said;

“Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you”

  13. elmantheman said,

    To Scaramouche:

So, you are a female now, huh? For that, I stand corrected. I am sorry, your gender was never an issue nor been part of our conversation even from the beginning when I posted my comment to your article. I’ll try to edit the pronouns that I used in my article about you.

Here’s my link which is enough to answer your claims

    http://elmantheman.wordpress.com/2008/02/05/christians-speak-truthfully-to-your-neighbor/.

To member of MCGI Cebu Chapter:

Do not call anyone a dog, biblical speaking. It should be used properly. In fact, Scaramouche has no idea of the scriptures yet. Do not misinterpret the bible.

    To Scaramouche:

I am sorry for the inconvenience Scaramouche. Christians, I am talking about the Christian group where I am affiliated with, do not hate you. You will know where I am coming from and I have not thrown stones at you but gave you a bread that won’t hurt you in anyway if you just believe.

  14. Scaramouche said,

    … I’m a dog and a swine now? Whee.

I don’t particularly want answers, elmantheman. While I appreciate your opinions, you must understand that MY beliefs make me happy, just as yours make YOU happy.

I appreciate your concern, but please just understand that, while appreciated, it is unnecessary. I’m happy in my beliefs and understanding of religion, and I believe that’s all that matters.

  15. elmantheman said,

    To Scaramouche:

What I gave you did not originate from my opinion, but rather I gave you biblical verses.

I have to answer your baseless claims the reason why I am giving you my link below which is enough to answer those claims.

One thing too, I will never call you a dog or a pig because there are those who the bible clearly defines and referred to as a dog and a pig.

  17. 6d60 said,

…umm, Elmantheman, you kind of gave that link three times already. I think if Scaramouche wanted to she will have clicked on them by now. And allow me to assure you she has for more than enough intelligence to find the first link, if that is why you poasted it thrice.

Another thing; for next time, when trying to convert non-christians, try not to use endless bible verses based upon foundations we don’t believe in in the first place. It just bores us. Instead, try using logic and reason based upon the secular morality and world we already accept. If one denies the premicies, an arguement is impossible.

Now, I have a challenge for you, Elmantheman. Try to do just that: argue to me, without using Bible verses, why one should believe the Christian faith, and without using the circular reasoning you people are so fond of using that stems from accepting Christianity and Jesus to begin with. Argue me this using only logic and valid reasoning alone. Keep in mind that I am not a hard Athiest, I am an agnostic spiritualist, and accept the possibility of a god. I just see why it should be yours.

  18. 6d60 said,

correction: *don’t* see why it should be yours.

  19. 6d60 said,

Also, I just realized your second post there may have been in responce to me. If so, it was a poor one, as it did not answer any of my questions. Please, if you are able, respond to my first reply here in your own words, and not with Bible verses that make no sense in the context.

If, however, it was not a response to me, I would be forced to conclude that you are ignoring me, and hence wonder why. It seems to me that if you had an answer to my questions you would have posted it. Do my questions make you uncomfortable?

  20. 6d60 said,
